Did I tell you about how Lydia collected 293 pairs of shoes for people in Haiti?

Well, I think I linked to it a few times.

Anyway, Lydia collected TWO HUNDRED AND NINETY THREE pairs of shoes for people in Haiti!

We read about this challenge from Clubhouse Jr Magazine and a ministry called Shoes 2 Share. We got excited about it, asked our neighborhood to help and encouraged the Impress Your Kids readers to get involved. Today I’ve put up a linky on Impress Your Kids and I’m hoping more families will link up their experiences with collecting shoes.

Today as I posted, I realized I never actually looked through my own closet to find shoes. So, this morning the kids and I searched through all the closets and filled another box full of 11 shoes. Lydia and Asa are working on a card for the folks at Shoes2Share and we’ll be mailing the box today.

Now, if my math is right, that means we’ve collected 304 pairs of shoes! How fun is that?!

If you’d like to get involved, check out my original Shoes 2 Share challenge on Impress Your Kids, our update (with the 293 shoes) and our celebration post today! I’d love for my ohAmanda readers to jump in with both feet, too. (Yeah, that was a bad shoe pun.)

I’ve got tears in my eyes. That is truly awesome and it was so cute how involved Lydia was/is. You are an inspiration.

What a great post….thanks for letting us know about this ministry! We collected 45 pairs of shoes in our neighborhood. Our church is getting involved and we are hoping to collect 600 pairs of shoes by the end of August!! What a great way for a family to get involved in a ministry!
