I was going to give you a big intro paragraph. But let’s just jump into this cuteness:
Maybe cute is the wrong word. How ’bout chic? Modern? Design-a-licious? Well, the point is the same: I likey.
Also. This bag.
These are just two of the delicious offerings from a little company called A Modern Eden. Their story is the same as ours–well, if we were super creative and design-y. They started having babies but weren’t impressed with any of the lambie-pampie baby stuff that went along with their new babes. So, they designed their own cooler stuff. {Find out more and see their team on the coolest ABOUT page the internet has ever seen.}
As part of doing this giveaway, I got to pick one of the posters for my very own. When I saw Henry the Lion I knew I had to have him. I thought it might go in Asa’s room. But when it got here it just didn’t quite go in my rockin’ orange & black nursery. Instead, I took it into our play/guestroom and it fits PERFECTLY. Henry the Lion’s adorableness got me so excited that I started a new crafty DIY project for the playroom. I can’t wait to get it all finished!
So, what I was going to say (before that long rabbit trail) is the poster is not like the slick posters you pull out of Tiger Beat and staple to your wall. Nope. This thing came on heavy heavy paper and is custom screen-printed then hand-stamped with it’s number. It’s gorgeous. Really, I was thinking of filling up the whole playroom with those posters. Or oh! even better, buying the flashcards and framing those. THAT would be cute. Especially if there is a panda in there.
But wait! There’s more! A Modern Eden has also developed a very cool iPhone app called Speak, Piggy! It’s basically just a flashcard system–scroll through the animals and touch to hear their noise and name.
We are not big iPhones-for-kids people but since Asa has been in his cast, he’s been playing with it a little more than usual. He LOVES it. The little guy just sits there scrolling though them and squealing with glee whenever he (accidentally) touches the button to make them speak.
So. Whaddya think? Want some of this deliciousness for yourself? A Modern Eden is offering up ONE POSTER of your choice (Lion, Peacock or Frog) & a TOTE BAG (Apple or Tree) & the iPod app! SERIOUSLY?! How great is that?
To enter to win this wonderful prize pack just leave me a comment with your favorite animal noise. (Mine? The pig. Honestly, how fun is it to say “oink”?) If you’d like an additional entry you can leave an extra comment when you do any of the following:

My favorite animal noise is hmmmmm…. chicken – “bauck bauck” only because that’s what Mags used to call chicken. When she would see the Chick-fil-a, she would make that sound. Used to crack us up.

OK – I make the best elephant sound ever… not to brag – it’s just the truth… 😉 So that would have to be my favorite animal sound.

My favorite animal noise that my 2 year old makes is a rooster. I can’t demonstrate through text, but picture high pitched crackling cock-a-doodle-do from a rooster that sounds like it is about to die. It’s my FAVE!

So, when we were kids, I liked to ask my brother to play giraffe with me so he’d quit bugging me.
Ever play it? Since giraffe’s don’t make noise, the first one to make a sound loses.
I think that I like giraffe sounds best. so serene!

In the words of my 19 month old, my favorite animal noise is “ar ar” – not a pirate, a dog barking!
