Last weekend we drove to Savannah to visit my husband’s grandparents. I love Savannah. It’s southern and beautiful and small and cozy and beachy and just yummy!
When we got settled on their couch, the first thing I asked is if they had any old pictures I could see. Well, ask and you shall receive! They showed me pictures from the last 70 years! I snagged a few and am going to share them with you for the next several weeks.
This one is my husband’s paternal grandfather at about 16 years old. I picked it up and said, “Grandpa, where were you?” He kinda laughed and said, “Oh, it’s one of those places you pay a nickel to go in and get your picture taken.” I love everything about this–the painted background, the seat with the fabric thrown over, his hair, his shoes and his rolled up sleeves. What fun to think of him stopping in to get his picture taken that day!

Okay I love love love that. Photos like that are my absolute fave! I always look at my grandparents when I go to their houses.
