I Still Love My Daughter…

by oh amanda on March 1, 2010

in me

…even though she spilled a glass of water on my laptop this morning. There was literally water dripping out of the corners of the keyboard when I picked it up. It’s dead as dead can be. I’m planning on taking it to the Apple store tomorrow—unless of course, it snows six inches tonight. Which, apparently, it might.

Lovely day.

You have my condolences. I think I would go mental if that happened. It’s so hard when you know it was an accident, but it’s so…painful!

Oh no! Give it some time to dry out? We’ve had miracles happen with water-fried electronics here.
And what is up with the snow?! The kids were out in short sleeves today!

OMG! I am so sorry. As a fellow sufferer of spills on the laptop, I sooooo feel your pain. My hp actually survived a coffee spill after removing the battery and letting it dry for days (it was never quite the same though). Next, Ty spilled a bottle of water on our Toshiba and it is still toast. Once in awhile, I try to boot it up, just in case it ‘might’ work. No so luck. I hope you fare better than I did. I now own a Macbook Pro, so I REALLY feel your pain. I am so sad for you. :( Oh, and I take all necessary precautionary measures now so nothing could ever possibly happen to my laptop. I am a freak about it now! Life lessons are hard to learn sometimes. Oh, and I still love my son too. Yet, I still cannot forget he killed a very young laptop.

Oh no! I hope it miraculously “rises from the dead.”

Oh, oh, oh Amanda!

Do I dare tell you, as the mom of an Apple Genius, that water damage isn’t covered under the warranty?? He says people come in all the time and say, “My computer/ipod won’t start up, but I didn’t spill on it or drop it in the bathtub/toilet!” Ha, that’s how he knows that’s EXACTLY what happened! People doth protest too much.

Well obviously I do dare to tell you… just think you should brace yourself before you take it in. Hopefully letting it dry out will bring it back to life… As a fellow mac devotee, I feel your pain!!
