We got a new TV on Black Friday. Yes, we did. And it’s big. And flat. And shiny. My husband is very happy. This new TV has reminded me that we have not talked about television in quite some time! I have been remiss in filling you in on my TV watching habits! I know you’ve been missing out on my commentary.
TOP TEN SHOWS OF 2009 & WHAT I THINK OF THEM SO FAR
1. How I Met Your Mother. Yes, it’s the show I should probably not watch. Especially since I tend to love the harlotry that is Barney. But I can’t help it. Barney is…wait for it…awesome. He is. And now I follow him and his counterpart, Neil Patrick Harris on twitter. And it makes me happy. I’m kind of sad about Barney & Robin breaking up. What did you think of those lovebirds?
2. So You Think You Can Dance. I’m pretty sure I’ve discussed how I adore this show. How I would marry this show if that was possible. How I want to sit next to Nigel and Mary. Of course, no one will ever hold the special place in my heart that Thayne, Twitch, Joshua and Katee hold. But I think right now I like Legacy (sans the tears), Ashley, Jakob and Katrhyn. Oh, and Ellenore! Who’s your fave?
3. Biggest Loser. How can you NOT like this show? I mean, besides the 45 minutes of show squeezed into 2 hours, it’s such an inspiring show! And this season? Abby?! Are you kidding me? I cry just thinking about her. And Shay? Did they REALLY kick her off? Grrrr. I’m still one week behind, so don’t tell me who the final four are. But so far, who’s your fave?
4. The Middle. I know, this show probably won’t make it. But it makes me laugh. Patricia Heaton (formerly of Everybody Loves Raymond) is the mom to a Roseanne-ish but funnier type family. But really Heaton is not the funny one. Its the kids are hysterical. Axl has the tortured teenager down to the most beautiful stereotype ever. And Sue? HILARIOUS. But Brick (::brick::) is just too funny for words. *snort* It’s making me laugh to think of it.
5. Flashforward. OK, this is the show I WANT TO like. But either our tivo is wonky or they’ve only made like four episodes because I have missed out on some of these. What do you think–could it ever rival LOST? WHAT AM I TALKING ABOUT? OF COURSE IT CAN’T! (But seriously, what do you think of it?)
6. Survivor: Samoa. Otherwise entitled, SURVIVOR: RUSSELL. I can’t help it, I want Russell to win. He’s an evil genius. Not in the vein of Johnny Fairplay and not even in the vein of Richard Hatch. He’s just…hilarious. Please tell me you like Russell.
7. Fringe. I heard this show was in danger of not making it past this second season. I actually like it better this season than last. Do you watch it? It’s about…uhm, well, it’s kind of confusing because there’s this FBI agent, and a crazy old scientist and his probably-from-another-dimension son along with Matthew Abadon from LOST who are trying to crack the case on fringe science and open up a galaxy wide plot to control the world. I likey.
8. Big Bang Theory. Thank you to my sister-in-law, Catie for telling me to watch this show. It is GEEKY and HILARIOUS. And Sheldon? Oh, Sheldon. I cannot even come up with something witty enough to describe you. I think I have a geek-crush on you.
9. The Amazing Race. I am about 6 episodes behind. Don’t tell me anything. All I know is the Poker Players get on my nerves. And Phil is awesome.
10. Project Runway. Les actually introduced me to this show. I thought it was a model show. I didn’t know it was a creative show! These designers amaze me! I can’t beleive someone can just make up an outfit and then create it in a day! It’s unbelievable. This season just ended. I wanted to Carol Hannah to win. Oh well. She was still the nicest. And Tim Gunn? Love him.

Omg! I LOVE SYTYCD!! I’ve watched it since the second season. I, sadly have not been able to watch it this fall because of my schedule. I always watch it in the summer and am so bummed they don’t have it online so I can catch up. Grrrr.. My favorites from each season so far have been Benji ( I heart him!)Allison and Demetri, Sabra, Twitch and Katee as well, and Jeanine from last season. (Did I get all the seasons so far?? lol) Season 2 has been my favorite so far out of all of them.
I don’t watch any of those other shows so I can’t say what I think of them. But I think this is a great Top Ten list so I may have to copy it for my Top Ten today. It will be coming later today
Congrats on the new T.V!

I only watch 2 of those you listed, and one of them is Project Runway. Like you, I never thought it was anything I’d be interested in … until a childhood friend of my daughter was on there a few seasons ago (Kayne). Been hooked ever since! I’d hate to see what I’d come up with in those challenges.

I hated Russell in the beginning, but I want him to win now! We started watching Flash Forward, but dropped it after a few shows. I watch Biggest Loser once in a while. I like it when I watch it, but I never remember to watch it. I’ve really never watched the other shows.
Come on Russell, you can win it!!!! Yeah!

I watch Survivor and L.O.V.E. it. However! I’m not much of a fan when it comes to Russell. I kinda like Shambo. Not sure why but I do!
If you get an opportunity check out Trauma on NBC on Monday nights. It took several weeks for me to convince my daughter it was worth staying up until 10:pm to watch it but one episode and she is hooked.
Have a great time at Disney!

BIG fan of Runway! Its the best show and I’ve seen all the prior seasons too. I love BL too but I agree its only to be watched on TIVO cause its too little show to blow up into 2 hours! What are they thinking?

I am so the same way about HIMYM. We just LOOOOVE it. And Big Bang Theory. I was also kind of torn up about the Robin/Barney thing not lasting. I liked Barney in love. Especially the Robin 101 episode.

I can’t believe how many of the same shows we like. I love reality TV and have always been a sucker for Biggest Loser, Amazing Race and Survior (among other’s that are too embarrassing to admit). I want to hate Russell on this season of Survivor, but like him more every week. He definitely deserves to win by outsmarting the rest. Biggest Loser I really like Danny. Of course Abby pulled at everyone’s heart strings, but she just needed the kick start to get her life back after suffering such a tragic event in her life. It wasn’t like she had been fat her whole life like some of the others. Actually any of them can win and I will be okay with it.

SYTYCD……you know how much I love love love this show, right? We’ve discussed this, so let’s move on……..first off, every time I see Thayne’s name I always sing the Fame theme song in my head. 🙂 but again, we’ve gone over that. My favs this season are (in no particular order);
Russell – ok, so he is my absolute fav, the others are good but I just likey Russell sooooo much!!! – his krump is buck! 😉
Legacy – he rocks too AND he isn’t arrogant about his talent. AND hello!!!!….how can he do all those styles?, he’s a b-boy!!!!
Jakob – first off, I like the spelling of his name. 🙂 and WOW is there anything that boy can’t do? and his kicks are ah. may. zing!!!!
Ryan – um, he is a younger version of Hugh Jackman. Please tell me that this has not escaped your notice! but I would appreciate it if he’d leave his shirt on, yes, we know he has very well-deveopled muscles, now let’s move on.
Ashley – at first I didn’t think she’d last nearly as long as she has. but she is an amazing dancer too!!!! I wouldn’t mind if she and Ryan (her husband- hello!) happened to be paired up in the coming weeks. I’d like to see them dance something other than their latin stuff, just to see how they do. wouldn’t that be fun??!!
Where’s Mia these days?? Why has she not done a single dance this season?? Her stuff is the best! I would totally do a trade and swap out that Sonya chic (but I admit that I do an impression of her dances that makes my husband laugh! – don’t you wish you could see it?…I know you do! oh, and I’m a self-proclaimed krumper too) 🙂
Biggest Loser – why do I love this show?? I always have to eat something naughty while watching it. Hmmmm….I have a feeling that Jillian would yell some obscenities at me for that. Moving on….I agree with you on Abby. What a terrible story she’s lived through. The only thing that would make her story even better….if she had Jesus!
Shay needed to stay, not that I cared for her whining. Did you notice that they did NOT do a follow-up after she was ousted?? Why is that I wonder? I just finished watching last nights episode and am ready for the finale. Except for the part where I have nothing to watch b/c they don’t have another season waiting in the wings (at least I don’t think they do….do they??)
Amazing Race – oh how i love thee! Again, I’m ready for the Sunday night finale. There is a certain pair that I want to win and a definite pair I DON’T want to win. we’ll talk when you’re caught up!

I ADORE “How I Met Your Mother.” And I, too, like Barney, though I know I shouldn’t. 🙂
I usually like “The Amazing Race,” but this season has BORED me to tears. I’m still watching, however.

We barely watch any TV, but Fringe? Fringe, I like. Sometimes it makes me a bit squeamish (it’s a tad bit gruesome at times, don’t you think?), but I really like it overall. They do a great job with delving into the characters’ personalities and relationships.

Here is something that you have probably never heard of. How does a $100 free trading account sound? With no strings attached? There is a company that is in the prelaunch stage for an unparalleled new predictive analysis technology to manage Forex accounts and they are using this viral method to spread the word. You just sign up for an account with a user name and password. You get $100 credited to your account. They professionally manage the account for you. The only string attached is that they want you to spread the word. They don’t ask for a credit card or any sensitive info. I tried it out myself and it is legit. Seems like a win-win situation. Here is the link if you want to check it out… http://prelaunchx.com/x/forextex

Honestly, I do know that everyone has their own opinion and I do respect that. However, for certain people, in certain situations, there are only a handful of real answers. This is especially true when it comes to promoting a website. If you would like to get thousands of links from blogs, forums, social media, web 2.0 sites, press releases, article directories and more, all in 1 and totally automated tool, you are now in luck. It harnesses the power of blogs platforms, bookmarking sites, link wheels, web 2.0 sites, social sites, article directories, press releases, rss feeds and directories, forums with profiles and blog networks. You need LOTS of links to your sites from LOTS of SOURCES, over time, with the bulk coming from lower tier sites and some from higher PR authority sites. That is exactly what this automated tool can do for you and perhaps the best part, is that you can schedule out you campaigns to infinity. Set it up once and then spread your links out over time with the scheduling feature. Even if you already have some good marketing tools, this is the one that can replace them all.
