Top Ten {Tuesday}: Disneyland Pictures

by oh amanda on September 29, 2009

in me

Lydia, Les and Asa experienced Disneyland for the first time yesterday! Five of my cousins and two of my aunts accompanied us. So, here are my favorite pictures in no particular order…

1. Asa, Lydia and me by Aurora’s Castle

2. Asa’s new pirate hat.

3. My aunt and Asa waiting for the 12 noon show at Small World. All the kids pop out of the windows and do a little dance like an old cuckoo clock. It’s so cute!

Excited kids. Bumped flights. Four hours in the air. Nice passengers. Lots of snacks. Waiting in airport. Rental cars stink. Finally! Hugging the family. Eating and talking. Talking and eating. Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. Homemade breakfast. More eating. More talking. Love. Hugs. Smiles. DISNEYLAND. Tinkerbell. Run from Goofy. Small World. Laughter. Dole Whip. Pirates. Winnie the Pooh. No fireworks. Strollers. Slings. Strollers. Arms. Bye-bye, Mickey. Driving. Sleeping. Carrying to bed. Late night conversations. Food. Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. Early morning hugs from a sleepy one year old. Lazy breakfast. Naps. Playing. Waiting for family. And more fun…

The ACE Party: Decor

by oh amanda on September 28, 2009

in me,party

Now, onto the decor…

I didn’t do much. Well, I did. I just did the same thing everywhere. I made the card garlands

playing card garland

(just cut a slit in the middle of the card and thread some fat ribbon. this one had about 20 cards on it.)

playing card garland
(we did horizontal and vertical garlands. this one was asa’s birthday 9/20/08.)

tissue paper balls

(tissue paper puff balls. i found several tutorials online but basically: 10 sheets, accordian fold, tie in middle, fluff.)

card decor
(pictures of Asa, month by month. oh, and we used leftover cards taped together as cute little table tents.)

And there you have it: the ACE party!

The ACE Party: Activities & Games

September 23, 2009 me

Most of Asa’s first birthday party I did myself. What I mean is, I didn’t buy any games, rent any inflatables or hire a performer. (Although, I was thinking about hiring a walk-around magician. I mean, how cool would that have been?!) Besides the food, we had a few game stations, one group game and…a [...]

The ACE Party: FOOD

September 22, 2009 me

I think I may have mentioned that Asa’s first birthday party was FUN! I enjoyed it so much. My parents came over to help me out before the party and if they had not been there, it would not have been as cute as it was. Once the party started I didn’t feel like I [...]
