Does anyone remember that I busted up my car on my birthday? Yeah, that was a wonderful gift to myself. Anyway, I’ve been driving around with a squished up hood for the past…16 days. Have I really been 32 for 16 days?! Holy cow. I’m an old woman.
Anywhoo. I finally drove to the body shop to get my car fixed. And it’s a sweet deal becuase my insurance company picks out the place they like best. I go there, they hook me up with a rental car and then I wait till my car is ready. And insurance pays for it all.
Well, I get to the body shop and fill out the appropriate paper work. The girl says, “Enterprise should be here in about ten minutes.” And indeed they are. A guy pulls up in a uh….I don’t know what kind of car it was. It was black. (I’m a girl, what can I say?)
So, I have to put both kids and a stroller into this car. Not because it’s mine and I take it home, oh no. Mr. Enterprise is taking me to his office. (Does this sound freaky to anyone else?!)
We drive a few short minutes to an undisclosed location the nearest Enterprise location and I cart the kids in so I can sign some papers. Now, I get my car, right?
NOPE.
The closest clean and available car is at ANOTHER location. So, we hop back into the…black car and take another spin. A drive long enough to talk to Mr. Enterprise. I told him I was a blogger. He told me he just read an article ABOUT blogging. (Common ground, right?) Then I told him I got a Sony HandyCam and a trip to Disney because of my blog. Oh yeah. Then he wanted to know more. So, I tried to talk him into blogging about the weird customers he had to drive around and his hobby–basement beer brewing. (Pretty sure that wasn’t the exact wording he used.)
Anyway, we finally get to the last (and seriously tiny) Enterprise location where my, uhm…WHITE car is waiting! I transfer the carseats once again (while Lydia is in tears because she thinks Mr. Enterprise is going to open the door for her and I try to transfer Asa without waking him) and finally drive away as my own chauffeur.
Thanks Mr. Enterprise for a drive around town and a chance to woo you to the blogosphere!
(ps–he told me he was going to read my blog and see what mean things I might say about Enterprise. I’m just hoping he forwards this to Enterprise HQ. I’ll be their new spokesmom…or at least take a 10% off coupon!)
hahaha…too funny! There goes Amanda trying to hook another deal, all for the sake of blogging! 🙂 I love it!
I had to do the same thing with Enterprise. It’s ridiculous. I didn’t like getting picked up by a strange person either in a stinky, smoke filled car that was filthy.
Then they wanted me to pay insurance to drive their car.
