The Original Retro Photo

My great-great-grandfather
born February 1867
died August 1953

This is the very first black and white picture I ever posted on my blog. My dad’s uncle emails his children a picture every day. This one he also emailed to me. I still think it’s the most amazing picture ever.

Just look at it—the chair, the unlaced shoes, the mustache, the comics, the pipe, the handkerchief. I could stare at this one for hours.

Do you have a black and white picture to share? Post it on your blog and leave a link in the comments!

LOVE IT! I love old family photos — my husband’s grandmother recently died and at the memorial reception there were all of these incredibly photos of her (including wedding, cavorting through Europe with friends –in proper hats and gloves of course — etc.). The photos offered such a remarkable window into her life!

Very nice. You should have a copy made and get it framed.

Awesome! I’m guessing the comics weren’t all that funny…or maybe that is his happy face. :-)

Love these old photos with such rich history! So great!

We have a fun meme over at Tell Me Thursday where you can keep your photos on WW wordless and then tell the story on your blog the next day. We’d love it if you’d come participate sometime!

Have a great weekend!
