Top Ten Tuesday: The New House

I think I shut down when I have a big task ahead of me. Like packing the whole house and moving into a new one with a 3 year old and an almost 6 month old while keeping everyone on their routine and happy and fed and clean and well-rested.

lydia at the new house this week

So, I know I should be ecstatic about packing up the house and moving into our possibly-forever-and-ever home, but I just can’t. There’s too much. I’m not trying to complain, just letting you know that I’ve been fixated on the…

Top Ten Things I Wish I Was Doing Instead of Packing My House

1. Stepping onto the Disney Wonder. (Only 8 more days!!)

2. Reading a Book. Maybe a really fun chick-lit like this one.

3. Eating. Anything. But especially these. (Seriously, click that link. The quantity is just hilarious.)

4. Clearing out my feed reader. I think there’s only like 583 unread.

5.  Hanging out with the sisterchicks. We haven’t got together since…well…I’m not sure. But it seems like forever. If it wasn’t for this thing called the recession, I’d want to go to The Melting Pot. But even McDonald’s would be a fun outing. I just need some girl time!

6. Sleeping.

7. Strolling the mall. Alone. Or Target. Or the grocery store, even.

8. Going to the movie theater. Do you know how long it’s been since I’ve been to the movies? (Well, besides Bolt with Lydia?) A long time. And I still haven’t seen Twilight.

9. UNpacking at the new house! I say that now. But that will probably be my Top Ten in a few weeks: Top Ten Things I’d Rather Do Than Open Up One More Stinkin’ Box.

10. Sleeping. I mean, really.

OH MY GOODNESS! That is my favorite Easter candy!!! I LOVE them! 🙂 We really DO live parallel worlds! HA! I can totally relate to the things you would rather do than pack…and I can also relate to doing other things than UNPACKING! I’m so tired of it… I’m having a hard time deciding where I want everything. I’ll be SO glad when it’s done.

i would rather unpack at a new house too!!! Wish I was there though, I’m an expert packer!

I can’t wait to see more pics of the house!!! The moldings and hardwood floors with the inlay are beautiful!

Yes, the packing is the hard part. BUT it’s also a great time to purge! The unpacking is more fun, but gets old real fast. I hope you have help getting settled.

    Oh, I love Cadbury eggs!

Moving was stressful when Hubby and I moved from our apartment, and it was only the two of us! My parents came the day we closed and helped finish packing, THEN they helped us arrange everything in our new house. I don’t think I would have made it without them.

    Mmm… Cadbury eggs.

I can’t stand moving and packing. The unpacking isn’t as bad.

761 unread posts in my Google Reader! It’s giving me an ulcer. I haven’t seen Twilight yet either… and it’s at the $1 theater right now!

BTW, that house looks AMAZING! Can’t wait for you guys to get all moved in!

I’m already loving that new house — so pretty! And I feel you on the overloaded google reader. I didn’t read mine for two days and I had 800 messages. Oh my!

Good luck. I hope you get a girl date to McD’s soon and that you see Twilight! 😉

Great…now I have to go buy a bag of Cadbury candy!

I am slightly jealous of the Disney Wonder bit – the Disney part, not the cruise part. I am not yet brave enough to take my guys on a cruise!

If you do end up at McD’s, get a “premium” hot chocolate. It is so much better than any drink from a fast food place should be!

FYI – I also don’t know how to clean out my reader (installed on my Mac from purchase). I just looked and you don’t want to know how many are in there!

I want to go to the Melting Pot!
Your new house looks so pretty! Can’t wait to see more. . .
I’m so behind on bloglines. UGH. Oh well.

I don’t blame you… I hate packing, lol. I’d be finding tons of other things to do instead. Good luck with it, though… hope it’s painless & gets done quickly.

I’ll take the Cadbury’s and I’d love to do the Disney Wonder! I’m so jealous, I mean happy for you!!!!

holy batman that is a lot of candy!

Packing is so crazy, you will enjoy unpacking so much more. Just make sure that you get the kids stuff unpacked first so they have some thing to do when you are busy with all the rest!

I’ve posted twice on your Black and White Wordless Wednesday post but I can’t see the post. I don’t know if it’s me or if there is a problem. Thought I’d leave a message here to see if you get it. That is if this message works. Have a great day!
