Posing for Wordless Wednesday

1942.

First of all, I have looked at this picture a hundred times and I JUST noticed as I was posting it that they are all sitting on a seesaw! See the random boy and girl on the far left?

Anyway, I’ve always liked this picture because it seems so silly and carefree. Most of the pictures back then are solemn. But they took some time posing this one! It looks like they were having fun.

I’m not sure but I think my great-great Grandfather is the first man on the right and my great-great Grandmother is the third from the top on the right. But what’s really weird is the woman holding the two girls in her lap looks like my mom! (Mama, are you reading this?)

I don’t have a Mr. Linky up for retro black and white pictures so as not to confuse other Wordless Wednesday participants. But if you do have a black and white picture to share please put the link in the comments. Shout out to Amy and TCKK who posted some great retro photos last week!

Man , I could slip that photo right into my family album and it would look right at home with photos of the same era. I love the clothes and the hair. Pics like this make me think of swing dancing and old movies etc. Nice! Thanks for visiting my WW! 🙂

What a great and fun way to do a family photo, or even maybe a wedding party photo, if the wedding were held in a park. Cool idea!
