I love your thoughts Amanda, and agree with you!
I like the concept of a birthday party. I feel bad for Livie, though, because she has been jibbed on the party, since she doesn’t have her own friends yet and it’s just so close to Christmas for us. Em has had some sort of party every year, though. Even if it doesn’t fall on her birthday, she’s still done something. Olivia has been included in these parties, but hasn’t been the focus. When she gets older… I think we’ll celebrate her birthday, in the summer.
I think kids birthday parties should always have weird clowns there making balloons and scaring everyone.
Girl, you know I LOVE a party. My favorite part is the invitation because it sets the stage for the whole thing, and then I build on that. Josh thinks I go too far with the kids’ parties, but in his family birthdays were never a big deal, unlike mine where we followed more of your philosophy. My big thing is giving the biggest bang for the buck, too, so I love to do lots of little touches for little money. However, I have to give you snaps for the most original ideas for Lydia’s parties. So cute!
OK – I recorded a snippet on my Flip – who the heck holds it for you, Amanda? I held mine while I recorded (because it’s naptime and I’m alone!) and it’s WAY too close for my comfort. I don’t know if I’ll post this one, b/c I’m kinda rambly on it, but I’ve broken the barrier and am actually considering the vlog thing!
