Oh, that Pirate. He’s a funny one.

Remember how Asa slept for 8 hours the other night? I tried not to get too excited about it. You know, I wanted to wait until he had done it 2 days in a row before I sent up fireworks or anything. However, the next night he slept TEN HOURS. TEN. HOURS. STRAIGHT. Are you believing this? And yesterday he slept perfectly in all his naps, he never cried before going to bed, didn’t cry when he woke up….he was a perfect angel child.

Then last night happened…

8:00pm

Me: Good night, sweet Asa! I’ll see you at 6:00am!

Asa: *yawn* (but inwardly thinking, “Muaha-ha-ha!”)

Midnight

Asa: WaaaaaaaaaHHHHHH! (but inwardly thinking, *snicker*)

Me: Huh? Whaa?

Asa: I’m hungreeeeeeeee!!!

Me: Huh? Whaaa?

several minutes pass…

Me: Feel better, baby?  Full tummy? Time for night, night. See you at 6:00am. RIGHT?

Asa: *gurgle, coo* (but inwardly thinking, YEAAAH, RIGHT.)

3:30am

Asa: WWWAAAAAAHHHHHH!

Me: Huh? Whaaaa?

Asa: I’m hungreeeeeeee!

Me: HUH? WAAAAH?

several minutes pass…

Me: Good night baby boy. I’ll see you at 8 or 9am, right? Right? Pretty please?!!

Asa: *snore* (but inwardly thinking, “hee, hee”)

6:55am

Asa: WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!

Me: YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME.

***

So, that’s why I’m sitting at the table, eating candy corn and hoping both my children will stay in their naps for at least another thirty minutes.

**update: and that is why 35 minutes later, I still have not posted this, because both kids decided naps were not a necessary part of their day.**

Not fun, huh? That has been my exact same night for the past 9-1/2 months. I’m always exhausted! What gives? :)

Hope you all are great!

If he is like my babes, he will get up a lot for several days and then right when your body is use to getting up he will sleep all night, but you will still be waking up because you are in the habit of getting up every 3 hours.

the reason they live through these difficult stages is because they are cute. that’s it. nothing else can save them. :)

I have twins myself. They just turned three in November.

I remember people telling me that it gets easier as they get older.

They’re lying.

Asa and Max must be having the same issues – Max’s nights have gotten all wonky for no reason. HATE IT! I want my sleeping 8+ hour baby back!!

And naps, what are those? Unless you count the cat-naps that Max will ONLY do. Anytime he makes it to 45 minutes, that’s a miracle. I feel like throwing a parade since it’s that rare. Hope things go back to normal for you in the sleep-department!
