Back to Randomness

in me,random

It’s week 3 of baby pirate. This has been my normal-goal…when I get to 3 weeks, then I feel like I’ll be semi-normal. But can I just say these last 2 weeks have been the loooooongest of my life? So, I can’t believe this Monday marks the beginning of another week. I have seven more days until normal. I hope I  can make it. And I hope we all get used to this new “normal”.

So, are you watching any new tv? I’m so way behind. I’ve seen Amazing Race (yay, Phil!), Survivor (how scary is that place?), How I Met Your Mother (loved the hamburger episode!) and the first episode of Heroes (i am so lost!). Right now I’m watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. And I think it is a new episode. Pretty exciting stuff.

I did go to the lactation consultant. Thanks for all your comments and prayers. I’m still really struggling with nursing him. He just won’t do it. He refuses to latch on and it’s a 15 minute wrestling match every time complete with screaming and arching his back. I called the LC again today and hope she can help. Because I’m hurtin’!

Hey, have you been following my Impress Your Kids blog? Leigh is posting on it too and she’s got so many great ideas. Please go look around and subscribe to the feed. It’s good stuff!

I think fall is trying to get here! I’ve been putting the heat on this week! And our tree is turning red. *sigh* I love our tree!

That’s all I got. Random as you can get.

Hey Amanda, you dont know me and I am relaly not too sure how I came across your blog but, we do know a few of the same people! My sister in law is Elisabeth Hartzler, our husbands are brothers! Small world!

Anywho, I have one suggestion on the nursing situation. I have a 6 week old little boy (aug 23rd) and he was having the same issue. I got a nipple shield by madela and it has worked a miracle in out lives! I was given the idea by another mom and the lactation line at Northside! Good luck!!

All I can say is it will get better. The first three weeks are always the longest.

I haven’t watched amazing race yet. I forgot to tivo the first episode and have the second one to watch… I missed pushing daisies. I missed the first two weeks of survivor! yikes! I guess I’m way behind.

mm, I’m so sorry, Amanda. I’ve been where you are, twice… :( I’m still praying for you!

And it’s OK if it takes you more than 3 weeks to get to semi-normal. If it doesn’t happen, don’t worry – it will happen soon!!!

I’ve been enjoying the new shows that are on! It feels like a sad statement, but I can’t deny it. :) Heros….Last week gave at least one HUGE detail that was lacking in the first episodes, so that was helpful. It was hard to remember what happened to who at the end of last season, so it’s been difficult to follow each character as well as the story line(s). I have one question though….why does Future Peter have a scar across his face?…isn’t he able to heal himself?

Sorry to hear that your transition with your son is difficult! Trust the Lord for each day, you will make it!!! I’m praying for you! :)

hang in there, Amanda. I feel like today has been the first day since Max was born that I felt balanced and life was resuming as normal. And he’s 14 weeks old. Just remember to go slow, take it moment by moment, and surrender those hard moments to Jesus. That’s the only way I survived.

Still praying the LC can help you – we’re heading to ours, again, tomorrow. The only light at the end of the tunnel for us is he’ll be starting solids soon and maybe that’ll make him nurse less…

Have they checked to see if he has a high palate? When you put your finger in his mouth, does it seem very high or arched? If so, you may need a nipple shield. He may not be able to feel it enough to latch on. That was why I couldn’t nurse Jake- I tried for two weeks.
