The most exciting part about a new baby is the love. I mean the LOVE. I haven’t had the break-down crying because I love him so much. (I’m sure my hormones just need to catch up.) But I feel like I can literally see the love flowing in our house.
Lydia is so smitten with her brother.

Les is protective of both of his children and takes pride in saying, “the kids”.

I can feel my heart alternately breaking and expanding as I look at each of my family. MY FAMILY. I’m the mama of a family. I’m lovin’ that new love.

(thank you for all the sweet comments and emails. thank you. i’m honored and blessed by you. and I promise, a birth story is coming soon…)

He’s absolutely beautiful, Amanda! I think he looks like both you & Les. Lydia is going to be a great big sister!
It is amazing how much joy comes with having a child! I’m so happy for you and I’m praying that you have no crazy hormonal days
. I can’t wait to hear all the labor details.
He is precious! Congrats!
It only gets better from here. God Bless!
I love his little face!
What an angel! You are truly blessed. Take your time with the birth story. As much as I would love to read it…you have other things to keep you busy at the moment!
Isn’t that the best thing? Who knew a human heart could hold so much love? And it keeps on growing…

It’s funny isn’t it?? How a family of 3 is wonderful for so many reasons, but how a family of 4 seems so much more like a “family”. It’s just different … nothing to take away from the time of just husband & wife or of husband/wife + one. But it’s just a good different:). I can’t wait to meet him – I got your message so I’ll touch base with you soon … I want to come out, see you, meet him & bring your “family” some food!!
Amanda, I am moved to tears. I’m not sure why but I am. I’m so happy for you and Les. sniff sniff.

Well, I can certainly see why there is so much love!!!
I haven’t had the break down and cry ’cause I love her so much moment either. I honestly think I’ve been too distracted (by Woggie) and stressed to go through that this time. I think it’s the same hormones, they’ve just manifested themselves as stress instead of tears!
Of course, you’re much more laid back than I am!
Yeah Amanda- I am so glad Asa is here. I cant believe how different he looks from Lydia’s pictures (as I remember them). How adorable are they together. And good job girl going all natural. Let me know how it was…compared to the epi. I am way curious. Get some rest.
He is beautiful!
Really, really beautiful.
We’re not too far from you (east of Atlanta near Stone Mountain Park, which isn’t “far” wherever in the Atlanta area you live), so let me know if there’s anything I can do to help.
How sweet! It’s sounds like you guys are having fun!
Such a doll! No wonder you can feel all the love. I can to, just through your post…
He’s so beautiful! Bask in that new-baby luuuv.

I can’t wait to meet him. He is just beautiful- and so different looking from Lydia. I got your message, but I didn’t have time to call you back yet!
I haven’t been able to blog a lot lately(you know 4 kids and all:) and just seen now that you had your little bundle. He is gorgeous…congrads!
They truly are a blessing…and I know just what you mean about feeling so much love in the house with a new baby and all…Oh I so remember those precious times.
Congratulations, Amanda. He is perfectly beautiful! Can’t wait to meet him and see the proud new sister
speaking of love. I love this post. I do… It’s pretty much perfect.

What a cutie. I know I’ve said that before, but I bet you never get tired of hearing it. I was wondering, does he give a soft little “arrrrggghhhh” when he yawns? BG
**tears in my eyes**
Congratulations! He is adorable!
Aw, that’s so sweet. I can’t imagine what it will be like when I have my own kids because I know what you’re sayig (or as well as you can without being a mom). I always think of how my parents felt when they held me for the first time. Baby’s are just weird like that. It’s intense how they can’t even talk and hardly move, but they change everything.
I love seeing this! Thank you so much for sharing.
