I just found out one of my heroes died yesterday.
Harold Davis was a Children’s Ministry pioneer. When I interned at a church (for their children’s ministry) in college, Harold was one of the Children’s Pastors there. He was one of the most creative guys I’ve ever met. He could just look at any object and turn it into a great lesson about the Lord. He was funny and generous. He had only been at the church a few weeks, when we went back home and before we left he gave us every one of his teaching videos and resources. (Which was a ton!) I’ve watched those things over and over and learned so much from them. I remember watching one by myself and just crying because the teaching was so good. He loved kids and Jesus.
I’ve seen him several times since then at conferences and when we’d visit Tulsa, he always treated me as an equal and as a dear friend. I consider him one, too. Please pray for his wife, Nancy and family.
Jesus, thank you for a wonderful example in your servant, Harold. I know you welcomed him with open arms!

If you’re still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you’ll know which is right for you.
