Roaring Wordless Wednesday

aren't they cute?

Ed and Dora. 1926.

Edward is my great-great-uncle. (My great-grandmother’s brother.) I’m assuming Dora is his wife.

Dora’s hair and shoes are just awesome. And I love the way Ed is standing. Debonair! I’ve always loved the style of the 20′s. I love seeing my family during that time period…it’s make their history more real AND our American history closer to home. Don’t you think?

I can just hear him saying, “take a picture of me and my woman.” Maybe it’s the way he has his arm hooked around her neck :)

Yeah, it looks like he’s thinking, “She is my woman!” Cute.

I agree.

I think it’s also interesting what your aunt is wearing. These days, when people think about the 1920s, they only think of flapper style clothing. But people seem to have forgotten that flapper style was kind of risque or avant guard during that time. It wasn’t the way *everybody* dressed — like Dora, who is wearing an outfit more typical of the 20s.
