So, I’m on vacation. In California! Home to my 4 aunts, 3 uncles, 14 cousins, 5 second cousins and miscellaneous in-law-types. Also home to Disneyland. So naturally, I’m very very excited.
Of course, I’ll probably have some internet access. I’m not afraid to stand on one foot at the front corner of the porch and hold my laptop up 5 feet to get a few bars. But just in case I’m too happy vacationing with my family, I thought I’d do some auto-posting. (Doesn’t that sound futuristic? No? Just me, I guess.)
So, welcome to the week long meme, otherwise known as A Few Of My Favorite Things. (man, am I original or what?!) Every day I’ll post one of my favorite things and then you can do the same in the comments. Or if you want to post it on your blog, leave the link so we can all see. I might even put up a Favorite Things Mr. Linky one day. Of course, I won’t be checking in to see what you say, so you’ll just have to converse with each other. But someone will be taking names, so everyone better behave! (Who wants to take names?)

What is your favorite color?
I know. I’m pulling out all the punches, aren’t I?
Well, I’m pretty sure it’s obvious what my favorite color is. But just in case you can’t tell, I’ve got a few of my favorite colored-y things below.
Like I have to say it…I found it all on etsy. But seriously, if you love purple, you know it’s kind of a cult. I found The Purple Store (I’ll take the “I *heart* purple” shirt, please.) and a flickr pool about purple. Not to mention purple is the color of royalty! And I just love all the shades of purple: Violet, plum, lavender, lilac, orchid, amethyst, wine, eggplant and mulberry. Isn’t that yummy?
I once read the way to find “your color” is to imagine swimming in it–everything is that color. And when I do that with yellow, I feel sunburnt. With blue, I feel dark. Green just makes me feel yucky. But oh! purple! I could swim in it all day!
So what’s your favorite color? (And there better be some fellow purple-lovers out there!)
Purple, purple, purple. I heart purple. If it was possible I would have my Explorer re-painted midnight metallic purple. I am right there with you Amanda!!!!
Black. I love the color black. I can imagine swimming in a huge black inky pool with just the moonlight overhead.
I especially love when the black is so dark that there’s almost a hidden iridescent shine to it.
Guess what color I’m wearing to work today? 😀
See, I’m swimming in the yellow and not feeling the slightest bit sunburnt, isn’t that funny? I just feel warm and happy and like all is right with the world. I’m wearing a buttery-yellow PJ top with a big pink flower on it right now and every time I look down it makes me smile 🙂

I’m sorry swimming in green would make you feel yucky…. I could swim in green all day and feel eneregized and calm at the same time! Are you sure you’re thinking about the right color? Green, as in the color of grass and limes and leaves and my eyes? hmmmm…. I *heart* green.

Alas, I cannot picture myself swimming in purple. Pink is the color I swim in. Pink rose petals….mmmm….so soft and luxurious.
Black is at the top of my list, closely followed by bright red and muted shades of blue.
PINK! Anything pink makes me happy. On a side not, I have on a purple shirt! 🙂
I used to swim in purple when I was little….now it is blue, blue, blue!

My favorite color is yellow, but a close runner-up is a deep blue-violet — some people call it a royal blue.
When I was a teenager I knew a lady who was ALL ABOUT PURPLE. I thought, at the time, she was OLD. HA – – – I’m probably older now than she was then. Time has a way of changing our perspectives, no?
Anyway – – – we called her “the purple lady” Original, I know. She wore purple, talked about purple, and EVEN lived in a little PURPLE house. I kid you not!!!!
My favorite color has always been green but I love red too (and not the christmas colors). 🙂

I got two of their t-shirts-one of them is, I “heart” purple! And I have purple sunglasses..and purple flip flops…you get the picture!
Mine was purple growing up … my parents so generously let me paint my walls purple too. Now it’s pink. I don’t really know why, I just gravitate toward it ever since having my first baby girl … then my second. Now I also have a girl lab puppy. So pink it is 🙂 … but I won’t be painting my walls pink 🙂
