Well, I can’t help it. I’ve got to do join up with Musings of a Housewife’s Top Ten Christmas Songs. Yes, I know, I’ve inundated you with traditions, ornaments, trees and ridiculous pictures. But I’ve been wanting to post about my favorite songs because…well, the past few weeks I’ve been channeling my inner American Idol. And I’m pretty good. Well. Sorta.
And because I’m bored a time waster wanting to share the joy, I created my own little imeem.com playlist so you can listen along to my favorite songs. It’s like borrowing my ipod! (Just click here to listen!)
1. Jesus, What a Wonderful Child by John Legend
It’s just too wonderful for words. It requires trills, runs and maybe a few “hallelujah’s!”
2. I Pray on Christmas by Harry Connick, Jr.
The best part of this song is when one of the band members shouts, “Praise Him!”
3. Christmas Kiss by Erin O’Donnell
This is a fun one that she wrote for her hubby or her hubby wrote for her when they got engaged (on Christmas, I guess.)
4. Matthew’s Begats by Andrew Peterson
This might be the greatest Christmas album of all times. The whole album tells the story of Christmas. Mostly original songs and very awesome.
5. White Christmas by Stacie Orrico
OK, so she’s not Bing Crosby. But to quote Stacie, “It’s like soo Christmasy but it’s like yeaaah!”
6. Favorite Things by Tony Bennett
My chickies don’t think this is a Christmas song. But it’s on his album and I LOVE it!
7. O Tannenbam by Vince Guarldi Trio (Charlie Brown Christmas)
Every song on this album is a winner!
8. Let it Snow by Diana Krall
I think this might be my favorite Christmas song of all times. Even though it’s not really about Christmas. I love every version of it. And Diana Krall’s is one of the best!
9. Winter Weather by Squirrrel Nut Zippers
One of my favorite bands. Her voice is just…gravely and delicious!
10. O Little Town of Bethlehem by Nat King Cole
How can you not love his yummy voice? Plus, after reading Why A Manger?* this song has such beautiful words & meaning!
If you want to see what other people are listening to, head over to Musings of A Housewife. I think I’m a few days late, but at least I’m linking up with her! So, feel free to do the same!
*you can win a copy of Why A Manger? by leaving a comment on that post!

FUN! There are some songs I’m unfamiliar with in your list. going to check them out…
I love Harry’s version of “I Pray on Christmas” too!!!!
Wow…I never knew Squirrel Nut Zippers did Christmas stuff.
That reminds me that I should’ve put “Oi to the World” on my list.
Gotta love that Gwen Stefani and No Doubt!
Just for the record, the song that I thought wasn’t really Christmasy was “What a Beautiful World”.
I can kinda see how “My Favorite Things” could be Christmasy.
