Words & Words & Words on Wednesday

hazel-wickstrom.jpg

My great grandmother, Hazel at 17 years old.
Born October 8, 1910. Died May 1994.

Hazel’s parents Charles Uno & Jenny Sophia were born in Sweden.

Charles immigrated when he was 7 with his mom and step-father.
We think he took his step-dad’s last name because he was illegitimate and didn’t know his biological father.

Jenny’s mom was an orphan, then later a single mom to an 8 year old and one on the way while living in Germany.
Jenny’s dad found out she was there (apparently they had known each other in Sweden), so he sent for her (he was in Minnesota), married her and had 3 more children, one of which being Jenny.

I wonder how Hazel’s parents & grandparents actions and lifestyles affected her as a 17 year old?
