I know, I know. It’s June. I can’t even use the Christmas in July thing. But, hey! I’m in MO at a wedding and I can’t get online so I’m pre-posting all these for your reading pleasure. This post is from my old blog that is on my computer that I never put online. I know, not really a blog then, if it’s not on the web, right? More like a clog. Whatever. Anyway, this is my very favorite Christmas post ever. Please enjoy & let me know what you think.
My new favorite tradition is how everyone is trying to be politically correct at Christma….I mean, “The Holidays”. I read in the Birmingham News that the Christmas tree downtown is NOT a Christmas tree, it is officially a “Holiday Tree”. I think that’s a great idea. It’s about time we got rid of the whole “Christmas” Tree idea. I mean, we use trees in ALL of our holiday celebrations. I for one, love my Saint Patrick’s Day tree. And while we’re at it, let’s just combine all the holidays of the year, like we do in December. I’m all for the Holiday Bunny, Holiday Eggs, Holiday Jack o’Lanterns and Holiday conversation hearts. It would make life so much more enjoyable to have a bland, inclusive group of holidays instead of rich, traditional holidays steeped in meaningful age-old customs. Thank God…I mean, Thank the Universe I’m naturally tolerant and politically correct.

Touche (can’t get the accent mark on the e to come up)!

Chuckle…you are SOOOOOO right about this. And I don’t really expect it to get better, do you?
