I’m still on vacation with the fam. The wedding is tomorrow. It’s an outdoor wedding. I have a sleeveless dress, so I should be cool enough. I just hope it doesn’t rain. Yuck.
I know I’ve mentioned this before, but my friends are all turning 30 this year. And my bff, Staci was the first one. Here’s what happened the day before her party:
My best friends turns 30 tomorrow. She’s throwing herself a birthday party. The party is going back to when it all began…1976. Everyone is invited to come in their finest 70’s threads. I can’t wait! I went up into my parent’s attic to find some of their old clothes. They were too young to be hippies, but they still had some sweet clothes.
I don’t know why my parents even have an attic. It’s full of stuff they haven’t looked at in 15 years, maybe longer. My mom went first but she was so funny because she was afraid there would be an animal up there. Once she stuck her head up and moved away the cobwebs, I went up, too. It’s cool to see stuff that used to be an everyday item, then rediscover it. I found one of my reading folders from elementary school. I saw my old Bibles and lots of my old books. We found the outfit I was brought home from the hospital in.
We also found a dead animal! It was so gross–especially because we couldn’t identify it! I was downstairs feeding Lydia when we heard Mama screaming! She said, “Daaarrrreellll! Come up here! Help me!” Daddy just laughed and said, “I am not coming up there!” When I finally went up there, it really was disgusting & creepy. We had to use tongs to pick up the deceased, then threw it in a trashbag which we immediately threw down to Daddy. *shudder*
We mainly found a ton of 80’s clothes…what were those designers thinking? Ugh. However, I think I will be stylin’ in the outfit I found…patchwork skirt, purple crochet/knitted poncho and felt hat. Groovy.
Actually, Mama took the patchwork skirt. I ended up with the disco outfit from my grandpa’s 3rd ex-wife. Sweet. Here’s some pics.

Have fun! I love weddings.
That really was fun!! Thanks for all your help! Can’t wait for the cruise, roomie 🙂
What fun (well, except for the dead animal, but finding the clothes — fun!!)! I loved those pictures. Hope you’re having a good time at the wedding. Can’t wait to hear.
