Guess what? Guess what? I celebrated my 30th birthday with my family today and guess what my parents gave me? Guess!!
A TRIP TO SEE OPRAH!
My mom and I are going to see Oprah! She hasn’t got the tickets yet. If you watch the show, you know how difficult it is. But they are taping between August & November of this year, so I guess my sahm-ness is going to come in handy. I’m going to call every time the ticket line is open and if they say, “Sure! Can you come tomorrow?” We’ll be on a plane! Wooo-hoo!
What if I get on TV? What if Oprah talks to me? What if we become best friends?!
AAAHHH! I’m so excited. I’ll keep you updated on my Oprah-palooza. (I’ll try to think of a better name than that…any suggestions?)
Oh, and I want to tell you about my “party” today…at the Renaissance Festival (hence the post title)!

Well how stinkin cool is that!!!!
SHUT UP!!! I’m terribly excited for you! Oprah is one of those people that I’m glad is alive in the world. OH. WOW. We need every juicy detail (what if you get on one of those giveaway shows?!) and yes, of course, you’ll become best friends with her. Done.
How fun! Two of my friends and I took a road trip to Chicago for Spring Break senior year of High School (8 years ago), and we got tickets to see Oprah. It was a lot of fun. We choose to go to the earlier show so we’d have all day to go shopping and to museums and stuff. All we said was that we didn’t care what the show was about as long as it wasn’t about marriage.
Yep. It was “Is your marriage 50/50?” It was a bummer, but still tons of fun. We thought about staying for the second show and just seing what that was about, (there were extra tickets and we could’ve stood in line) but we didn’t want to risk another topic we didn’t really care about.
The next day, my uncle who is a photographer in the city, ran into someone he knew who either worked there or something. Well, she said that the second show that day had been Oscar fashions. We were so bummed. When we watched that show when it aired, they even got little gift packages of make-up and a magazine subscription- more than we got (which was nothing).
It was a lot of fun, though. I’m still happy we went and I want to go once more before she’s done with the show. I can’t wait to hear about your trip!
OH my goodness! If anybody will make friends with her, you two will!!!!!! You guys will probably come home with her bottle of Snaple!
How fun! And I’m so jealous of Renn Fest!
Aren’t you overflowing in abundance on ‘Ye 30th year of birth’! Go you!! I must say that I would love to see Oprah too!! Enjoy every minute of it – I hope you get through!!
Neat! What if you get to go to her favorite things taping??? Man, oh, man.
Tell me when you’re going to Chicago and I’ll come up to see you!!!! 🙂 (Not kidding either!) Congrats on an awesome gift!
How awesome is that!!!
