I’ve been 30 for 2 days and nothing too bad has happened. No new grey hairs. No new aching joints. No new wrinkles. We’ll see how long this lasts.
When I woke up on my birthday morning and looked outside, I was greeted by this:
My friend Kristen, decorated my yard with adorable little 30’s! (Speaking of which, I should probably go take them down…)
Then we loaded up Lydia, dropped her off at the mil’s house and we were off!
I don’t think my dh and I have even gone on a date since Lydia was born, much less to a hotel! So, we shopped at the mall for awhile. I should have taken a picture of all the shopping bags: Gap, American Eagle, Express, Anthropologie, Victoria’s Secret and the best of the best—-Godiva!
For dinner we went to a cool little restaurant called Tw!st–kind of a tapas bar. Appetizers are my favorite anyway, so we ordered sushi, calamari, a pizza, chili lime shrimp and for dessert, my absolute fave: chocolate fondue!
We trekked back to the hotel, stopping for a couple of pictures
And then jumped in our comfy bed with big squishy pillows, a down comforter and a feather bed topper. I was in heaven. And I had every intention to sleep until at least 10:00am. So, the next morning, I’m in and out of sleep, then finally turn over to read the alarm clock and am shocked to see 7:22am. Whaaat? I tried to go back to sleep. I may have for 5 minutes. But basically I was awake. Being a mom has officially ruined my sleeping late. Oh well.
We had brunch at a hole in the wall, stopped by Ikea on the way to pick up Lydia, then got lots of baby kisses when we saw her! My mil said Lydia signed “mommy” and “daddy” the whole time we where gone!
It was a fun day. I’m glad to be 30!

Oh, I am so jealous of your shopping adventure/hotel getaway. But what a great birthday gift! Still jealous though. Glad you had fun.

Cool “30”s everywhere! Love the polka dots. Where did you guys stay? My all-time fave hotel is the Westin in downtown “Hot”lanta with all the down accessories on the bed! And the view is amazing…we haven’t been since 2000 though-we need to go back!
