This morning I was in courtroom 2B on the 2nd floor of the County Courthouse with the Honorable Judge So-and-so presiding. Yes, I was in traffic court. My offense? I drove on an expired tag for a little over 4 months (gasp!). I know, I know, my lame excuse is that we thought we were moving to GA and then didn’t, and didn’t want to pay for double tags. Blah, blah, blah. Yeah, the judge didn’t buy it either. But he reduced my fine and I got out of there for $38. Not bad.
This afternoon my 2 year old niece, Nora came over and we played with Hello Kitty bubbles (‘eyo ‘itty buboos), visited Snow White’s castle (my next door neighbor’s Mediterranean style house), threw leaves and sticks to our swan (yes, our lake really has a swan in it) and finally, hallelu-hallelu-hallelu-hallelujah, strapped both Lydia & Nora into highchairs and watched Beauty and the Beast while we ate macaroni and cheese with peas!
Tonight we are catching up on our Tivo-ing. We still haven’t watched Survivor OR Lost! Last night’s American Idol fiasco took precedence. What were we thinking? What was America thinking? Say it with me…Sanjaya must go!
But the best moment of the day was hearing my husband put a cranky Lydia to bed. I snuck back there (while Nora was engrossed in Mrs. Potts & Chip) to see if he needed any help and saw him sitting in our glider, with Lydia on his lap reading Elephant’s Big Ride & Noah’s Stormy Adventure to her. I think it melted away some of the day’s aggravation and tiredness to hear him make rain noises and read, “Don’t worry, God promised to keep us safe!” *sigh*
What did you do today?
